A Polish journalist has been punched in the head during a Russian television show after declaring Russians “live ‘in s***”. Tomasz Maciejczuk was participating in a taping of the show Voting Right when the conversation turned to the issue of worker salarie.
Host Roman Babayan threw a piece of paper in his face in response. “You’re the ones who live in s***!” he said.
Ihor Markov, a former Ukrainian parliamentarian wanted by police over riots in 2007, then threw the punch at Maciejczuk’s forehead.
The host and guest demanded Maciejczuk leave the studio.
Maciejczuk refused to go.
He argued his remarks were no more offensive than comments Russians often make about Poles and other eatern European countries.
The show never aired but the station published the clip on YouTube, The Moscow Times reports.
