Real Madrid have reportedly started negotiating a deal with Isco, but the Spanish midfielder is contemplating whether or not to accept the offer.

The European champions are trying to tie down their key players with lucrative contract offers, knowing they won’t be able to register any new player before January 2018 due to a transfer ban imposed on them.

Toni Kroos, Luca Modrić, Lucas Vázquez, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have all penned a new contract with the club, and Madrid now want Isco and Pepe to commit their futures as well.

Isco has two years left on his current deal but Los Blancos want the 24-year-old to sign a long-term contract extension at the club.

According to reports from AS, Isco is in no hurry to sign a new deal. He has instructed his father, who is also his agent, to stop feeding rumours about his future.

Isco has made eight starts in 17 games for Los Blancos in all competitions this season. However, in his case, the opportunities have come mainly because of injuries to several key players in his position forcing Zinedine Zidane to shuffle his midfield set up.

The Spaniard is not worried about the financial aspect of the deal. What worries him is his role in the side. He wants to play regularly and will not accept a bit-part role. And unless he gets an assurance from his manager about getting regular game time, there is every possibility that Isco might reject the offer.

This season, Isco has been given license to roam behind Cristiano Ronaldo up front in a new looking Los Blancos formation. He has regained his confidence while playing in his favourite #10 role and put up one of his best performances in a Real Madrid shirt in their 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid last Saturday.

Isco has no shortage of admirers in Europe and big Premier League clubs would jump in for him if he ever decides to leave Madrid. Manchester United are thought to be one of his keen admirers, with the Red Devils considering him as a potential long-term replacement of Wayne Rooney.

Likewise, Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in signing him and if the reports are to be believed the north Londoners will be looking to lure the Spaniard to White Hart Lane when the transfer window reopens in January.
